Community Groups
There are many active groups within the school - all parents and supporters are warmly welcome.
Craft Group

Craft group is a group of parents who meet weekly to create toys and crafts for sale at our annual Advent Fair. Waldorf education favours toys that encourage imaginative play through their simplicity and beauty. Made from natural materials, our toys are environmentally friendly and develop unique characteristics according to their makers. Craft group also provides the opportunity for parents to gather together, get to know each other better, and learn more about the life of the school. Currently meeting on Wednesday mornings in a parent's home. We welcome new members. Handwork skills not essential, we learn from each other. For more details please contact the office.
Dollmaking Group
The Dollmaking group meets weekly on Tuesday 7.30pm with an experienced dollmaker to make beautiful Waldorf dolls for the Advent Fair whilst learning dollmaking skills for their own projects. No experience necessary.
Advent Fair Group
This group forms every year when the preparations for the Advent Fair start (approx during Term 2). The Fair is our major fundraiser of the year and requires much organisational, catering, promotional and craft skills.
Choir
Started last year by enthusiastic parents, the Choir has now evolved into a female voice choir singing a variety of music. We will be giving a house concert later this term and would love to have a few more singers join us. If you love singing - come along. We currently have singers with a range of experience. Some are fluent music readers and some learn by ear. The group meets weekly - Monday 7.30pm in a parent's home. No experience necessary. For further information please telephone Coral 818 0602.
Adult Recorder Players
This group meets on Tuesday afternoons, 2-3pm, with the aim of supporting the music element of school festivals. It is open to all who enjoy learning and playing recorder (soprano, alto, tenor and/or bass), however, basic music reading ability is necessary to participate in the group. Phone Katrina 817-8448.
Gardening Group & Games
The Gardening Group meet after school on Wednesday afternoons taking care of the school gardens - while their children enjoy an extended afternoon playing games together. Contact Karen.
Building and Maintenance Team
The Building and Maintenance Team (colloquially known as the BMT) is a group of parents and community members who share a threefold interest.
- Enjoy working alongside other parents in efforts to beautify, improve and maintain the School
- Enjoy learning new practical skills and sharing their own skills with others
- Enjoy socialising with one another at shared meals during working days at school and at other regular times throughout the year at venues such as the local Titirangi RSA.
The BMT members give generously of their time as well as the use of many quality building tools from individuals’ daytime professions. BMT events are always enjoyed with a good amount of lively spirit. New friendships are forged and a wider and deeper sense of Titirangi Rudolf Steiner School community is developed. For more information and if you are interested to join please contact Travis on 09-8171435 or Stephan on 09-817 8982.
Whole School Development Group
The Whole School Development Group cares for the future building development needs of the school from Early Childhood through to Upper School. With the whole school stretching at the seams the time has come to move toward expanding for the future to accommodate
> increased numbers of children coming through Kindergarten into school (current classroom sizes aren’t adequate for future class numbers),
> children on the Nursery and Kindergarten waiting lists and
> expanding upper school.
Projects are underway and the group welcomes anyone interested in helping with this exciting phase of the school's life. Phone Melanie: 816-9202
Kindergarten Parent Study Group
Kindergarten assistants and parents are invited to join the Kindergarten Parent Study Group who meet together with Kindergarteners for deepening knowledge of the Steiner approach at Kindergarten age, discussing any issues arising from their work with children and providing parent information with regular notice board articles. There are no meetings at present, but will restart at a later date. Please contact Kathy in the Kindergarten if interested.
